Fred Perry’s collaboration with fellow designers has been broad and now features Raf Simons being the label’s latest edition. It seems like the collaboration between Raf Simons and Fred Perry has been going very well and it’s being continued in this FW09 collection.
This season, Raf Simons draws inspiration from the classic 1960s Fred Perry skiwear look featuring a combination of knit wear and the use of metal and shimmer to highlight the Fred Perry Laurel on the apperals. Simons is bringing back the essence of Fred Perry in the collection by focusing on accentuating the Laurel as the main feature in the pieces. It can be seen apparently on the the polos with a huge metallic woven Laurel on the front.
It is refreshing to see that the Polo shirts features a slimmer cut with smaller collars compared to the off the mill Fred Perry Polos. The good news is the slimmer cut is being incorporated into the whole collection this season and thus produces a very sleek, clean and fitted look. This line features short sleeve sweater, a very sleek button down pique polo and patterened polo as well.
As the concentration for this collection is on the famous Laurel, all of the pieces feature an exclusive 3-D Laurel logo – even some are in metallic!

This Spring/Summer 2010 season, Raf Simons wants you to go high-fashion with fine tailored suits that makes every men looks refine and immaculate. And in typical Raf Simons style, he adds in leather and snake prints making it an impressively refine yet edgy collection.
