The Fall season in fashion brings the military inspired look to the now. Currently we have seen Balmain showcasing many of it’s women’s military style jackets which Rihanna and Beyonce have been spotted wearing them. Now the men’s military inspired look has been seen strutting the runway that exudes a cool factor making men look dashing, rugged and look like real men. Somehow it reminded me of Brad Pitt and his troops in Inglorious Bastards, they looked crisps and dashing.

The modern appeal towards this look is the slimmer and modern cuts, detailing, rich fabrics and chunky flashy buttons. Marc Jacobs military style jacket is subtle towards the 80′s look which uses rich fabric with a modern cut.  John Galliano took it to another level by turning up the volume with a medieval theme with baggy prim jackets worn casually with boots. D&G military inspired jackets bring the lux into the collection. Every single piece is well made and look pristine and stylish. The detailing is great and the overall styling is impeccable. For a more simple take on the military look, Burberry Prorsum features simple colours and cut with minimal detailing.

Zara and H&M is on top of the list as well with the military inspired look using darker colours instead but with the same variables of cuts, fabric and detailing. The military style jacket is a must have in your wardrobe for this season.

The Hoodie and The Snoodie

The hoodie has been an outfit that is quite practical and basically is a great piece of outfit all year round. Although sometimes by wearing the hoodie, it means that you’re up to no good or being labeled a trouble maker. Nevertheless, the hoodie looks great this season by dressing it up. Wear it under your jacket or coat and layer it under a shirt and tie creating a fun forward look that means business. We can see Beckham sporting the hoodie in style as well as our Inglorious Brad.

An item to challenge the hoodie this season is the snood. It seems like Burberry is claiming that the snood is the must have accessories of the season as we can see it being styled on the label’s latest runway collection. The snood is a combination of a scarf and the hood that you can simply wear it over your head where it acts as a neck warmer and can be pulled into a hoodie. Putting on the snood provides texture to your outfit and also is highly practical. Not only does it looks great, it is simple to put on compared to a scarf and is surprisingly stylish!

Burberry features snoods that are really chunky and thick in a range of understated shades as well as the label’s own renowned check with a price tag of £125 onwards.

snood11If you’re looking for a more affordable range that doesn’t compromise on style, H&M has pick-up the latest sensation. The snood from H&M is not that chunky but it has more drapes with a casual outlook.

So who wins in a battle between the Hoodie and the Snoodie?
